Director & Co-Founder / Chattanooga, TN

A Chattanooga native, Russell Courtney is much of the spiritual mind and meditation behind The SoulCare Project. With a degree from Bryan College in Psychology and Minor in Youth Ministry, Russell served as Director of Middle School Ministries for Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church in Greenville, SC from 2004-2007. In 2007 Russell moved to Colorado Springs to attend Denver Seminary and intern with Potter's Inn, a ministry of spiritual formation and care of the soul. Under the direction and mentorship of Steve Smith and studies at Denver Seminary where he received an M.A. in Christian Formation and Soul Care, Russell began dreaming of providing Christian leaders a place of solitude and rest. Providentially, Russell re-connected with childhood acquaintance Dan Maclellan while in Colorado, and the two began a friendship and launched The SoulCare Project in February of 2009. Russell and his wife Kate are back in Chattanooga where Russell continues to develop the vision of The SoulCare Project and Kate works as a bridal consultant. Both are enjoying being near friends and family again.

Director & Co-Founder / Nashville, TN

Also a Chattanooga native, Dan Maclellan serves as a driving motivator and Director of The SoulCare Project with Russell. Re-connecting with Russell while the two lived in Colorado, Dan helped develop and found The SoulCare Project out of a desire to provide people needed space for rest and communion with Christ. Serving as the President of Cornerstone Enrollment Services Dan understands the needed pause The SoulCare Project provides him in his own life and looks to provide that to fellow marketplace and ministry leaders. Dan, his wife Leslie and their four kids currently call Nashville home. When not immersed with family, work, and rest Dan enjoys tennis, mountain biking and snowboarding.
